Acne Skin Care Tips

What are acne reasons? It is an excessive amount of sebum produced by sebaceous glands, located under the skin on face, chest and shoulders. When these glands become more active, they produce much sebum that makes the skin oilier. Excessive sebum clogs up the pores or hair follicles and can cause acne.

Clogged up pores are excellent habitats for bacteria. Bacterial infection leads to inflammation of a clogged pore or a hair follicle, and there appears a pimple.

More acne appears when:

1. The skin accumulates grease, grime or any harmful chemicals.

2. When a person is experiencing stress.

3. As a result of squeezing pimples.

4. When the body undergoes hormonal changes (puberty and menopause).

5. While being treated by hormones or steroids.

Precautions to be taken, if you have pimples:

• Avoid dry, spicy or fatty food. It causes an upset stomach.

• Do not eat in fast foods and do not drink alcoholic beverages.

• Wash your face twice a day using a mild facial cleaner.

• Use the ribbon for your hair to prevent it from falling on your face. Sweat and dirt accumulated on hair may cause skin irritation.

• Do not use scrubs.

• Wash your hair regularly with a mild shampoo to keep it clean and avoid dandruff.

• Do not use moisturizers based on oils. Choose water-based moisturizers.

• Drink a lot of water.

• Exercise regularly.

Natural herbal remedies for treating acne at home:

• Wash your face twice a day with cool water using a mild soap.

• Chop fresh leaves of neem with turmeric to a paste consistence. Apply it directly on the inflamed area. Wash away when it gets dry.

• Apply to face the flesh of ripe tomatoes and wash away when it dries (usually it takes about 45 minutes).

• Do not leave make up on your face for the night. Wash it away with a mild herbal facial cleaner.

• Mix the pea flour with rose water and apply the mixture on face for 15-20 minutes, then rinse it with warm water.

• Eat plenty of salads made of fresh vegetables and fresh fruit - this will help to keep your skin healthy.

• Drink a lot of water (5-10 glasses per day).
