Face Care Tips

The facial skin needs even more attention than the rest of the body because the face has more oil glands, especially the central forehead, eye areas, nose and chin.

Preparing Your Face before a Facial
It is easy to prepare the face for a facial. Do it every time before applying mask and your skin will glow.

- Bring pan of water to boil and remove from gas. Watchfully cover pan with a towel and place face over steam, at least one foot from the pan to prevent burn. Be very attentive not to damage your skin with the steam. Five minutes or less is enough to open up your pores.

- Apply mask of your choice.

- Rinse off mask with lukewarm (not hot) water, ending with a cold-water rinse to close your pores.

Daily face care tips
- Wash face systematically in the morning and before bed. Skin needs to be kept as clean as possible. Never wear makeup overnight.

- Protect skin from sunlight and other environmental insults. Sunlight causes the skin aging, so one of the most essential steps that you can make for your facial skin is to stay away from sunlight (otherwise, please, use liberal amounts of sunscreen).

- Wet face with somewhat hot water to open pores, use your preferred facial cleanser. Be gentle with your skin, let the cleanser work. Do not rough up your facial skin and don't forget your neck. Rinse with warm water, gradually to tepid, and then a final rinse with cold water to close pores.

- Use a toner, astringent, if you want, but always moisturize. Your facial skin will thank you throughout your life if you treat it well every day.

Following these easy tips, you can look younger and more beautiful without spending too much time and money. Once you have work out your skin care regime, it will only take five to ten minutes a day. Always consider your skin type, is it oily, normal, combination, dry, sensitive, or sun-damaged. Use only products designed for your skin. Remember to avoid stress, sun damage and poor nutrition, the factors that speed up skin aging process.
